Chickies Rock County Park

Directions:
From the City of Lancaster: Take Route 30 West ten miles to the Columbia/Route 441 exit. From the exit turn right onto Route 441 North; go one mile to the parking area on the left. A walking trail to the overlook begins here.

Chickies Rock County Park is located between Columbia borough and Marietta borough. The park is said to be the County's second largest regional park. The park began in 1977 and as of 1997 the park was covered over 422 acres of land. Chickies Rock has two pavilions, many picnic areas, Volleyball Courts, Playgrounds, Hiking Trails, Horse Trails, Cross Country Skiing Trails, Mountan Bikking Trails, and Stream Fishing Areas. The park also includes Sledding Slopes, Trapping, Hunting, a Boat Launch, and many natural and historic areas.

D.F. Buchmiller Park

Directions
From the City of Lancaster: Take Prince Street, Rt. 222/272 south through the City of Lancaster. Cross the Conestoga River and continue one mile. The park will be on your right. The entrance is located .2 miles past the tennis courts on your right.

Lancaster County Central Park

Directions
From the City of Lancaster: Take Duke Street south through the city until Chesapeake Street. Take a right onto Chesapeake Street; go .2 miles and turn left into the park.

Lancaster County Central Park is located at the southern edge of Lancaster City and part of West Lampeter Township. The park has a very rich historical background. Many historical sites include the Rock Ford Plantation and the site of a American IUndian burial ground. Also the area where Robert Fulton first experimented with the paddle wheel boat on the Conestoga River. This area can be located on Rockford Road. The park contains 544 acres of all kinds of habitats between Mill Creek and the Conestoga River. The park is broken down into many areas.

Money Rocks Park

Directions
From New Holland: Take Route 23 East to Route 322 East. Turn right and follow Route 322 East for four miles to Narvon Road. Take a right onto Narvon Road for one mile. The parking lot is on the right, across from Alexander Drive.

Money Rocks Park is located in the Welsh Mountains of eastern Lancaster County. The park covers over three-hundred acres of woodland. The beautiful ridge offers views of farmland, towns, and distant hills. The park has many hiking trails and cross country skiing trails. The park offers mountain biking and horse trails also. The park has many spots for rock climbing, sledding sloaps and has many beautiful natural areas for people to view and wonder about in.

Speedwell Forge

Directions
From Lititz: Follow Route 501 North five miles to Brickerville. Turn left on to Route 322 West for 200 yards and turn left onto Long Lane. Follow Long Lane 1 1/2 miles. When the road ends, turn left onto Speedwell Forge Road. Follow one half mile; cross a small bridge and turn right into the parking lot.

Speedwell Forge Park is located between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's Speedwell Forge Lake and the wooded State Game Lands of the nearby Furnace Hills. There is a huge diversity of habitats. There are the upland woods, maturing forest, wooded wetland, cultivated fields and the overgrown west meadow along the creek. There are many tall plants and native woodland wild flowers. The park has many hiking trails and horse trails. There are spots for stream fisihing, hunting, trapping, and many more natural areas.

Theodor A. Parker III Natural Area

Directions
From Quarryville: Follow route 222 South for three miles. Go past Solanco High School and turn left onto Blackburn Road. Follow Blackburn Road three miles and turn left onto Wesley Road. Follow Wesley Road across a small bridge and turn left into the parking area.

Theodor A. Parker III Natural Area is located in the southeast portion of Lancaster County. The park covers over 90 acres of land. The park was named after Theodore A. Parker III. Theodore A. Parker III was a internationally known ornitholologist from Lancaster. Stewart Run tumbles over rocks and waterfuls to creat the county's most pristine stream. The park has hiking along trails that are parallel to the stream and walls of rock. The park has a huge number of animal life. Animals that could be spotted are deer, raccoons, opossum, and brown and brook trout. There are many kinds of birds flying around in the park too! The park includes, Hiking trails, Cross Country Skiing, Stream Fishing, and Trapping. The park really has beautiful natural areas for the visitors to spend time in.
